Anatolia is one of the rare countries on earth which the nature has endowed with a very rich flora. Its location between two big seas with different climates, low plains at sea level, highland pasturages at over 3,000m, dry uplands and similar conflicting characteristics provided it with an unusual collection of plants, especially flowers. Few they are recently there has been a number of scholarly publications on the subject.

This small volume brings together only a limited number of the flowers in Turkey. The book is made for the tourists who may want to take home a memento of their visit to this country. No effort has been made to include any particular rare or endemic plant or flower, or to bring together the related species.
